Pakistan will receive ADB $ 3.4 billion of budget support


Islamabad: The Asian Development Agency will provide Pakistan with $ 3.4 billion in budget support, said Finance Minister Dr. Abdul Hafeez Shaikh.

In a series of tweets, Dr. Abdul Hafeez Shaikh said: "ADB will provide $ 3.4 billion in budget support." I met with Mr. Werner Liepach, Director General of the Asian Development Bank, today to reach an agreement on the plan".

He said: "The Asian Development Bank will provide $ 3.4 billion in budget support to help reform and stabilize the economy."

The consultant said: "This fiscal year will release $ 2.2 billion from the first quarter of fiscal year 2019-2020, which will help the revenues and the location of external accounts."

He added that this support is a complement to the portfolio and that spending in the coming years is expected to be as high as $ 1 billion.

Dr. Hafez appreciated ADB's commitment to Pakistan's economic reform agenda.
